What is the TeamWorx philosophy about team building events?

We believe that the team building event is very likely your best opportunity for ROI from your meeting. It is the most powerful tool for getting your people to know each other better in meaningful ways, your best opportunity to open up new ways of thinking and creative insights into what you already do, and the most potent motivational force known to the business world.

Where does TeamWorx fit in the world of Team Building?

TeamWorx caters to clients that must have their event be perfect, meaningful, entertaining, and professional. Our clients are generally Fortune 1000 companies, or successful private companies looking for a unique experience.

Are TeamWorx events physically demanding?

TeamWorx team building events are designed with corporate people in mind. They do not require demanding physical requirements, and at the same time do demand full engagement of the same type of skills people should use at the office.

What should participants wear to the event?

In general participants should wear comfortable clothing – especially shoes! Programs such as Dream Builders, The Space Odyssey, and the Solve It Build It Race It allow for almost any type of attire, whereas programs such as The Island and The Amazing Adventure Race require more comfortable clothing.

How do I choose the best team building program for my group?

How will I know my team building event will be perfect?

In one word: Systems. All of our programs are designed to run perfectly every time. When you purchase a TeamWorx event you know it has been tested, refined, and run to perfection for other demanding clients.

How does TeamWorx staff my event?

TeamWorx is always working to save you money, but never at the expense of quality.  TeamWorx has a minimum of one or two core staff sent to every event.  TeamWorx trains local staff we hire through qualified partners who meet our strict guidelines.  We go through all necessary checks to ensure these people are customer service oriented and fun!  Our system is developed to train local staff on each one of our events competently and thoroughly. This system is proven to work, and saves you money.

Can TeamWorx send me a proposal?

TeamWorx has made it exceptionally easy for you whether you are an internal or external meeting planner. Detailed descriptions of all of our programs (including pricing) can be printed directly from our website on the Programs page so that you can share information with other decision makers immediately. You can also forward the link to our website as an easy way for decision makers to see what they are purchasing, and learn more about our company.

Will TeamWorx lower their prices for my event?

TeamWorx events are always first class events and in order to deliver what we promise, we have priced our events accordingly.  We are proud to be one of the few team building companies who actually publish their prices because we know what it costs to run a five diamond team building event.  You can be assured when a TeamWorx representative asks you for your budget they are sincerely trying to help you find a fit and are not playing the price game.  If your group is exceptionally large, if you book several events at once, or if you have a malleable budget for staff or transportation, a TeamWorx representative will be happy to work with you to meet your budget.  Our minimum costs are not negotiable.

What is included in TeamWorx prices?

Travel, transportation, shipping, board, professional emcee and/or professional operations manager, exceptional staff, intensive props, music and all event coordination are included in our events.   No taxes or any other surprise surcharges are added to any TeamWorx event. 

What is not included in TeamWorx prices?

The venue, audio/visual equipment and lodging for our core staff are not included in our prices.  Usually our clients already have these items booked when they reach us. No taxes or any other surprise surcharges are added to any TeamWorx event.

Why do your prices exclude venue, hotel and audio/visual?

Typically TeamWorx clients already have a venue in mind when they reach us.  This venue is usually at a large resort with the audio/visual intact and the room rate negotiated.  It is for this reason that TeamWorx excludes these items from our prices.  If we added them in, our costs would be higher to the meeting planner and we want to save all of our clients as much money and hassle as possible.  If these circumstances do not fit your situation, please let us know and we will be happy to work with you.  We do have an audio system and LCD projector available for local events in Las Vegas, San Diego and Los Angeles.

Why is it necessary for TeamWorx to stay at the same resort as our group?

We aim to save you money by having you book our rooms with your negotiated room block rate.  This way we don’t have to charge you for a non-negotiated room rate. We want your event to be perfect.  It is easiest for us to make sure your event is perfect if we stay at the same location as the team building event is held at so we can access our shipments on arrival, meet you, and train staff on site.

What type of payment does TeamWorx accept?

TeamWorx accepts American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and checks.

When is payment due for a TeamWorx program?

A 50% deposit is due the day you sign a Program Agreement.  The remaining program balance is due by the event date.  A 10% total program fee will be charged for all late payments past 7 days.  This 10% late program fee will be added to the remaining balance your company owes TeamWorx every 7 days it is past due until the entire remainder is paid in full.

Why does TeamWorx charge a 10% late program fee for every 7 days past due?

We want to save you money. Collecting program fees costs money that ultimately adds to the price of our programs. We choose to pass this savings on to you for timely payment.

Can TeamWorx recommend a venue for our team building event?

We have several unique venue partners throughout the country that we have matched to our specific events. We have delivered programs at hundreds of venues throughout the country. Feel free to call us to discuss our suggestions for your specific group.

Can TeamWorx customize a team building event for my group?

Absolutely! In fact, some of the events you see on our site have come from custom designed events for clients who had ‘a great idea!’ Please consider the following when thinking about a request for a custom designed team building event:

  1. It will cost more money.
  2. TeamWorx requires a minimum retainer fee of $1,500 for a proposal to be produced. The proposal will be produced after a collaborative detailed conversation between you and us. The $1,500 will be credited to the actual cost of your event when you sign a program agreement.
  3.  Success is guaranteed – perfection is not. It takes hours and hours of development, perfecting and re-perfecting to work out the kinks in a new event. That is why we believe choosing one of our pre-designed events is almost always the best choice.
Why does TeamWorx charge more for customized requests?

The mission of TeamWorx is to produce first rate, five diamond team building experiences at the lowest possible cost to you. Quality is the driving force of all of our events. An original program takes a large investment of time and money to develop from inception to creation to completion. Once the event is designed, more hours of development are poured into perfecting all of the systems from delivery, to packaging, to training, and to presentation.  It is a big process!  That’s why it costs more.

Why does TeamWorx prefer to deliver pre-designed events?

It’s like going to a Broadway Play.  You wouldn’t want to go to a play that wasn’t rehearsed just because other people hadn’t seen it.  You want to see a play that has been rehearsed and perfected, but is new to you.  It’s the same with a team building event.  The events that we have “rehearsed” are flawless, enjoyable and polished. Some will argue that a pre-designed event is too “canned” for their group.  We disagree.  Each of our events is designed from an original idea that we haven’t seen played out by every other team building company in existence.  We believe pre-designed events guarantee class, value and superiority.

What exactly am I responsible for?

There are key items almost every program includes:

  1. A signed Program Agreement 30 days out with your 50% deposit via check or credit card.
  2. An appropriate venue to hold the team building program including any additional tables, chairs, or other in-house items necessary. We can help make this process effortless for you.
  3.  A payment for the remainder of the program on or before the day of the program.
  4. A sound system with an I-Pod hook-up capability.
  5. A wireless microphone
  6. Clear communication to your participants about what to wear, and what to expect.
